Angie I have become one of the favorites at Matsqui Stables! I recently went into the Gerry Griner Show with a Level 5 student, and was able to show them that not only can I prance around in the arena pretty, but I can also go crazy fast in the timed competitions! |

Applesauce I am a 27 year old blue roan pony. I love kids, but most of all I love treats! My owners have to take me off the grass in the spring because they say I eat till I get sick......I still think it's worth it, but I know they are just trying to keep me healthy. If you click on downloads section above, you will see me begging for my grain. YUM! |

Bolt I am a 16 year old quarter horse gelding cross. I am one of the original horses at Matsqui Stables. I have taken numerous people on the trails. From nervous adults, to little kids and international students. I've seen it all! I still go ride the dyke often, but have been enjoying being used as a lesson horse lately as well. |

Chevy I am a 10 year old Throughbred Gelding. I was on the track as a youngster. I only ran 3 races, but managed to get 6th in one of the races. Denise says she doesn't even know how I placed at all.....apparently I'm not very fast.....and don't really have too much get-up-n-go......oh well, those qualities allow me to be a schooling horse. Good enough for me! |

Cleo I am an 11 year old Quarter Horse cross. I love to hang out in the pasture with my best friend Jeni. My last owner didn't keep my feet in very good condition, but I am bouncing back! I am a total western gal… got the jog and lope down to a science… I even keep my head down like a good western quarter horse should! |

Gumby I am a 9 year old mustang gelding originally from Alberta. My owners bought me as a stallion, but changed that real quick. I have been used as a guide horse mostly, but now my owner "Boss" Denise is starting to take special interest in me. She's hoping to one day use me as her drill horse, so you may see me in the future at Agri Fair! |

Jeni I am a 4 year old arabian mare. I am light on my feet, have a good head on my shoulders, and a big heart. I am very confident at the walk / trot with a rider on my back, but am still working to gain balance at the canter. For what I lack in experience I make up in cutenes |

Honey I am a 7 year old Quarter Horse Mare. Some call me White, but I am a Cremello with 2 blue eyes. I was originally purchased at the auction for my good looks as they thought I would be perfect for weddings! They are now discovering my many talents. I'm apparently very enjoyable to ride with great smooth gaits, a soft mouth and a good frame. I'm mostly just flattered that they think I'm beautiful! |

Mickey I am a Thoroughbred gelding, but they say I have the delicate head of an Arabian. Every one always "oohs" and "aahs" over the way I move....."very light on the feet" they say. I just do what comes natural. They also say I am the most sensitive horse they've ever had! It's quite the compliment. I think I fit in here just great! |

Monty I am a 14 year old Thoroughbred. I spend most of my day eating.....and I'm not exaggerating. I eat ALL day! They say it's because it's hard to keep weight on me, but I don't care! What's better in life than food??? I'm really tall (16.3 Hands), really handsome (just look at my pic!), and really smart (well, I think so anyways). I can take most any rider, so if you come riding you just might see me! |

Rea I am a delicate pure bred arabian. I'm a little older than you'd expect, but people say I don't act my age. (A real lady never tells her age). I've been around the block a little, but have settled in quite well at the ranch. I seem to stay out of trouble most often, but there's nothing like being true to the "mare" instinct and pinning my ears back at ALL the horses. I just pretend I'm tough, but my bark is definitely a lot louder than my bite! |

Skye I am a 5 year old registered 1/2 Arabian, 1/2 National Show Horse (Saddlebred). I may be small but I am full of beans.....lots of them. I LOVE to go. Denise says I'm a good challenge for the students. My job is to teach them to sit deep in their saddle, check and release from their shoulder blades, and have quiet legs. |

Slim I am a 14 year old quarter horse cross. Everyone always thinks I'm a girl......maybe it's the "cute blonde hair", but please don't be mistaken, I am a gelding!! I love the trails, love kids and LOVE my buddy "Buck". |

Takaya I am a 16.2 HH 23 year old thoroughbred mare. I have a rather interesting history. I got my beginnings on the track. It wasnt really my forte, so they turned me into a brood mare. I had 7 foals! Thats enough for any woman! Finally they decided to retrain me for beginner riders at the ripe age of 17. I now gladly take all ages, sizes and riding levels. |
